Additional information about wildfire and smoke conditions
While smoke may discourage outdoor activities, consider Canyoning as an excellent choice during smoky periods. Here’s why:
- Canyons are deep and narrow which means that visibility is not impaired by smoke.
- Canyons provide a refreshing escape from the heat, with cooler temperatures and waterfall-generated winds thinning the smoke.
- This is a low-intensity activity that avoids strenuous effort, and our guides prioritize a relaxed pace. This approach takes just 20 minutes.
Safety note: We closely monitor wildfire situations and ensure that tours are conducted in safe areas. Tours in the Kelowna region have been temporarily suspended, and affected clients have been refunded. Our mobility allows us to offer alternative locations.
Our thoughts and sympathies go out to those who are facing greater challenges and losses in the Kelowna area.
Adrenaline Canyoning in the Penticton area
Everyone enjoys looking at waterfalls, but have you ever considered going further? Join us in exploring hidden waterfalls, and witness them from an incredibly close vantage point!
Our Penticton area tour is situated in the Naramata hinterland, a charming village nestled against Okanagan Lake.
After meeting at the canyon’s parking lot (refer to the Google Maps link on this page and in your confirmation email), we’ll provide you with the necessary gear, conduct a safety briefing, and run through our rappelling school workshop.
Following this, you’ll hike approximately 20 minutes with your guide(s) to the upper entrance of the canyon, where the excitement begins!
Prepare to explore one of the Okanagan’s narrowest canyons, fed by a crystal-clear mountain creek—a truly picturesque journey through the earth’s depths.
This canyon descent focuses on teaching you the art of waterfall rappelling. Our skilled and certified guide(s) will instruct you in safe rappelling techniques, which may differ significantly from what you already know. Depending on the conditions, you’ll experience between 6 and 9 rappels.
This adventure is more challenging than our Kelowna trip. Although prior experience isn’t necessary, we do ask that participants possess a sense of adventure. This is essential because once we enter the lower part of the canyon, commitment to the descent is absolute. If our guides assess that you can’t proceed to the lower section, a refund won’t be possible. If you’re uncertain, consider waiting for a more accessible trip before joining this one.
